Lansing mayor closes business for the day
Due to the extreme cold, Mayor Andy Schor has closed operations for Lansing government on Monday.
“Safety is always our number one priority,” said Schor. “We urge residents to stay off the roads, assist neighbors in need, and take extra precautions to stay safe.”
City Hall, 54-A District Court and all other city facilities will be closed Jan. 28.
He would like to remind residents to not park on the street to allow for safe plowing.
As a reminder - city ordinance prohibits on-street parking from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. Vehicles parked on city streets that interfere with plowing operations may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Another city ordinance states that property owners need to clear snow and ice from sidewalks next to their property within 24 hours after a winter storm event.
