Lansing Ignite has open tryouts in January
If you think you have what it takes to play on a professional soccer team, tryouts for Lansing Ignite are happening in January.
People 16 years old and older can sign up for tryouts for the team.
“Offering opportunities for mid-Michigan soccer players is important to us at Lansing Ignite,” said Vice President and General Manager Jeremy Sampson. “Having a mix of players from around the world as well as from our own backyard helps build a winning team that develops our story as Michigan’s professional soccer team.”
The two-hour open tryout is at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Legacy Center, 9299 Goble Drive in Brighton.
Registration is $75 per person. Participants will get a Lansing Ignite tryout shirt.
Three players already have signed with the team: Xavier Gomez, Christian Silva and Rafa Mentzingen.
Practice will begin in February with the team's first match on March 30 in Richmond, Virginia.
