Teachers in the Lansing Public School District are getting a raise under a new five year contract.

Teachers will get a 2.5% increase in pay for the upcoming school year.

The contract also includes stipends and financial incentives tied to student achievement.

Starting teachers will earn $40,000 per year.

The raise is part of the district's $156 million budget for the upcoming school year.
