Lansing police to hold three use of force policy community meetings this summer

The Lansing Police Department will hold a series of community meetings this summer to discuss its use of force policy and other topics.

A news release said all meetings are open to the public and will allow people to address their concerns with the Board of Police Commissioners, City Attorney's Office and the police department's leadership team.

In addition to the department's use of force policy, officer training protocols are expected to be a topic of discussion.

The first meeting is 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and will be held via Zoom. To join the meeting, click this link:

Other community meetings will be held July 8, July 22 and August 19. Each meeting will be limited to 15 callers, and each will be given 3 minutes to speak. To register for the meeting, call the police department's administration office at 517-483-6040.
