LANSING, MI (WILX) -- Lansing police were dispatched to a local hospital Tuesday after reports of a shooting at Stabler Park.
When the Lansing Police Department arrived to the hospital, they said they made contact with a 16-year-old male who had a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim told police he was at a Stabler Park, located on the 700 block of Allen Street, playing basketball with others.
The victim said he got into an argument with another player that turned physical. Police say the suspect retrieved a handgun from nearby and fired it toward the 16-year-old boy, striking him in the leg.
Police say the victim ran home and was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Police have no description of the suspect at this time.
LPD is looking for any information the community or witnesses of the incident might have.
