A lithium battery in a passenger's laptop caught fire aboard a cross-country JetBlue flight Tuesday, causing the plane to divert to Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Jetblue may be one step closer to offering trans-atlantic service.
The airline is holding a scheduled meeting today for employees at JFK Airport in New York City, where executives will speak about Jetblue's vision and strategy.
Jetblue could add flights to London and other European cities from its New York and Boston hubs.
The airline has been considering service across the Atlantic for several years.
A key part of Jetblue's strategy is its popular Mint Business Class, which features lie-flat seats and some suites with sliding doors and premium meals.
The company has declined to comment as of yet about today's meeting.
