JACKSON, MI (WILX) - Believe it or not, but your child's summer vacation is almost over and the start of school is literally right around the corner.

That is why the Many Hands Community Services organization hosted what they called, a Back2School bash on Sunday.

The event had fun activities and games like a petting zoo and a foam party, but it also provided opportunities for students to get ready for school.

Teeth cleaning was available, along with a backpack and school supplies giveaway.

Daniel Mahoney, the event coordinator said, "Kids who grow up less fortunate have the same wants and needs as any other kid, just minus the actual means to get what they may want or need. So, they have the same desires as kids who are more well off."

Thousands of students have been helped by this event in the ten years its been held.
