Jackson man who shot at police officer gets up to 20 years in prison

JACKSON, MI (WILX) -- A Jackson man who admitted to shooting at a police officer will spend the next several years in prison.

Court records show Jalen Page, 23, was sentenced on Wednesday, Sept. 11 by Jackson County Circuit Court Judge John McBain to two years for felony firearm and 9-20 years for assault with intent to murder.

Page pleaded guilty to the charges on July 16.

Page fired at a Jackson police officer who was responding to a domestic assault call on September 2, 2018 at the 1100 block of Adrian Avenue in Jackson.

The officer was in his patrol car in front of a house pursuing Page when Page fired his gun at the officer.

The officer was not hurt and did return fire, however, Page escaped by running through local backyards.

This happened on the 1100 block of South Milwaukee Street.

He was arrested by Michigan State Police's Fugitive Team on September 6, 2018 in Flint.
