New footage of a sleeping octopus rapidly changing its colors has scientists wondering if cephalopods are also capable of dreaming.

The footage is from the upcoming PBS program - "Octopus:Making Contact."

In it a marine biologist suggests the animal's color ma correspond with its dreams.

Octopuses often change their skin color to evade predators or when hunting.

However, the biologist says a color change this rapid is something he's never seen before.

"Octopus Making Contact" premieres October 2 on PBS.
