A familiar face will soon be back at Ingham County Animal Control, this time as its director.

The Board of Commissioners voted in Jodi LeBombard.

The former lead animal control officer for the county got a warm welcome from people who showed up to meet her during Tuesday night's meet and greet.

LeBombard has more than 10 years of experience in Ingham County.

She says she's happy to be back and to start implementing new operational plans for the shelter after a large dog fighting ring bust last summer.

"I'm super excited that I'm finally in the position to make those changes and be their support," LeBombard said.

LeBombard is currently the director of the Jackson County Animal Control Shelter.

She starts her new job in Ingham County on Oct. 15.

"We are feeling absolutely estatic right now. This is a person that has shown leadership and passion for animals and she can take charge and bring the community back together, and move forward in a positive way," said Jamie Hillman, a Save the Lansing Michigan Pitbull advocate.
