Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter to host grand opening ceremony

LANSING, MI (WILX) -- The Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter has moved into it's new facilities and are ready to celebrate.

The animal control and shelter will be hosting a grand opening ceremony celebrating the hard work and dedication over the last three years when the millage was passed allowing the business to move into new facilities.

The ceremony will be presided over by Ingham County Commissioners Bryan Crenshaw, Carol Koening, and Robin Naeyaert, and former commissioner Penelope Tsernoglou.

Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund Chairperson Holly Thompson will be presenting Shelter Director Jodi LeBombard with the ceremonial check of $300,000 from their Capital Campaign.

Following the ceremony, the annual summer Adopt-A-Fest will begin with discounted adoptions at the shelter all day and night through 6 p.m. Saturday, June 15.

Adoptions will be discounted to $30 for dogs, $10 for adult cats and kittens and $5 for senior cats.
