An Indiana school district has announced that they will begin drug testing some of their high school students.

The tests are only for those taking part in extracurricular activities, like sports, band and driving to school.

Ten students will be selected at random each quarter and tested for ten drugs teens are most likely to use and the testing is funded by parking passes for students that drive themselves to school

.

There has been mixed reaction from parents so far.

One parent thought the district should talk to parents if they suspect a drug problem with a student before doing a random drug test.

Other parents support the policy, they hope it will separate kids and drugs.

After their first offense, students will be ineligible for one third of scheduled extracurricular events.

After a third offense, they will be ineligible for them or the rest of their time in high school.
