EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) Hundreds of people turned out Thursday night to support programs that benefit the growing number of seniors in the tri-county area.

WILX Anchor Ann Emmerich emceed the Tri County Office on Aging's 33rd Annual Dinner and Auction Thursday evening at Eagle Eye Banquet Center in East Lansing.

Money raised helps fund programs for seniors in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties, including Meals on Wheels, the Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program, and Crisis Services for the Elderly.

The organization offers many services free of charge, and relies on state and federal funding. Money raised beyond that helps serve the growing need for the growing population of seniors in the tri-county area.

Last year, TCOA served 477,500 home-delivered and congregate dining site meals to more than 3,100 clients.
