UPDATE: Family loses home in Charlotte fire

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WILX) - Cews battled a fire Sunday afternoon in Charlotte at 2800 Otto Road.

Crews reported heavy smoke upon arrival to the residence.

No one was inside and there were no injuries.

Crews from Benton, Charlotte and Windsor battled flames at the home around 4 PM.

The fire was put out five hours later.

The cause of the fire is under investigation .

The family that lived in the house is displaced and receiving help from the Red Cross of Lansing.
