A fire happened on the 800 block of Cleveland Street early Wednesday morning in Lansing.

Witnesses said smoke could be seen coming from the home on 819 Cleveland Street around 1 a.m.

Lansing fire crews were able to put out the fire quickly.

It turns out that the home was vacant and had been "red-tagged" since the summer.

Firefighters say there is major structural damage to the building and that the house will probably be torn down.

Houses on either side of the burning home sustained minor damage to their exteriors, including some melted siding

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and is under investigation. Since the home was vacant, there wasn't any power going to the home leading firefighters to consider the cause as suspicious.
