ISHPEMING, MI (WILX) - Home owners in the upper peninsula were given good news on Wednesday.
And they have good reason to be relieved.
Now, that they're off the hook for a $19,000 water bill.
About one-million gallons of water leaked from a broken pipe at the rental property in Ishpeming.
A tenant and the city were not aware of the two-month spill in the home's crawl space.
The owners got a bill for $18,709.
On Tuesday, the city council voted to only charge what it cost the city to send the water through the meter.
That came out to about $2,500.
