The second phase of upgrades to the Lansing School District is set to begin.

Crews will break ground at 5:30 Thursday evening on the project to transform the existing Pattengill Academy into the new Eastern High School.

This comes after voters approved a $120-million bond proposal back in 2016.

The first phase started last year when crews started renovating Fairview Elementary.

Once that is done, it will replace Pattengill Academy, which will become the new Eastern High following renovations.
