MERIDIAN TWP., Mich. (WILX) - Grand River avenue will be shut down to one lane for each direction west of Central Park Drive due to a water main break.

Officials are asking drivers to please avoid the area.

People living on Grand River Avenue from Okemos Road to Central Park Drive will be without water Thursday.

Water service will be shut off for repairs at 1:30 p.m., which is expected to take one or two hours to complete.

“At this time we have not shut down water to any customers, although the water pressure may be reduced to users serviced by the main,” said Derek Perry, Assistant Township Manager and Director of Public Works.
