DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) -- About 4,000 General Motors workers are about to lose their jobs.

Layoffs start Monday in the 15-percent reduction in white collar jobs in North America.

The layoffs were first announced in November, along with plans to close four plants -- two in Michigan, one in Ohio, and one in Ontario.

GM will report financial results on Wednesday and lower earnings are expected.
