Michigan (WILX) -- Gas prices are on the uptick across the nation as spring arrives.
According to gas buddy, the average price for a gallon of regular gas has surged to $2.58.
That's the highest price since November.
Prices in mid-Michgan are also up, with most spot averaging at around $2.75 a gallon in Lansing
The average in the Jackson area is around $2.79 a gallon.
The cheapest gas in the entire state is in Dearborn Heights, here gas is going for $2.28 a gallon.
Gas buddy says there are a couple of reasons for the increase, including that people are driving more as the weather improves and refinery capacity is an issue.
Gas taxes, which vary from state to state, are also a factor.
