LANSING, MI (WILX) - Tax day has come and gone and now you may be left wondering what to do with all those private documents.

Friedland Industries in Lansing is planning to hold their annual Document Destruction Day Saturday from 8 a.m. To 2 p.m.

They are offering up their industrial shredders to the public.

Vice president Joel Conn says anything with identifiable information on it, like your social security number, is good to shred.

Says Conn, "People are usually bringing old tax documents, business receipts, that type of thing. People will also bring their mail."

He adds, "People bring anything from a little grocery bag all the way up to trailers or trucks full of documents."

The company has been offering this service to the public for 11 years now.

They anticipate over 60 thousand pounds of documents to be shredded tomorrow.

Everything that is shredded is sent over to a local paper mill, where is is re-pulped and then remade into paper.
