LANSING, MI (WILX) - The Greater Lansing Food Bank received a donation to help keep their services of providing food to hundreds going.

A $5000 Bayer Fund Grant was delivered by employees from Bayer U.S. Crop Science on August 13.

“At Greater Lansing Food bank, with just one dollar we can provide three meals, so these funds will go a really long way and will make a huge impact in our community”, said Kelly Miller, GLFB Development & Major Gifts Officer. “We want to thank Bayer Fund for this grant and supporting us in our mission to alleviate hunger one meal at a time.”

The money will go towards purchasing food to stock the food bank.

“Food is such a basic need that people in our community do not have access to, and the work that Greater Lansing Food Bank does in order to feed people is amazing”, said Greg Scanlan, Bayer U.S. Crop Science Site Lead of Mason, MI. “We’re proud to support Greater Lansing Food Bank with this Bayer Fund grant.”

Bayer Fund has given away more than $8.4 million this year to nonprofit organizations to help address needs in access to food and nutrition, STEM education, and community development.
