LANSING, MI (WILX) -- You never know what you can do until you do it.
A young Flint mom is proof of that after she delivered her own baby at home.
Takara Brown, 17, was just one week away from her due date when she started feeling minor contractions last week.
She said she thought everything was fine and just suspected it was Braxton Hicks.
Her water didn't even break, but little London was ready to come into the world.
Brown acted quickly grabbing a towel in the kitchen and used what she learned from her mom and sister to safely deliver her child.
"Apparently I went into a little bit of panicking, I was scared a little bit, but I knew I had to do it for her so I had to set that to the side," Brown said.
Brown and London were checked out at the hospital where she received praise for how she handled the situation.
Baby London is doing healthy and well.
