The Ingham County Sheriff's Department says they were responding to a call for a 43-year-old that wasn't breathing when there was a collision with a Delhi Fire vehicle.
Residents told News 10’s Cryss Walker the woman was a new neighbor who just moved in about a month ago.
“She was definitely going through a hard time,” a nearby neighbor said who wanted to remain anonymous.
“Going through a divorce. I don't know if she worked. I don't know anything like that but she was definitely going through a hard time. An everyday loving mom really.”
Upon arrival, Delhi paramedics pronounced the woman at the scene dead, however, Ingham County is investigating the death as suspicious.
According to neighbors, two emergency vehicles cruised through a mobile home park at high rates of speed and collided.
It happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday in Windmill Park in Delhi Township.
The fire department told NEWS 10 that it was a command car that was driving to a call regarding someone experiencing cardiac arrest that crashed into an Ingham County Sheriff car.
There were no injuries and the damage was minor to the two cars.
There hasn't been a determination to who is at fault.
