UPDATE: Two people dead in North Lansing house fire
Lansing firefighters discovered two bodies in a house destroyed by fire on Lansing's north side Wednesday night.
Fire crews responded to a structure fire at 1005 Hapeman Street at 10:59 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters found an individual outside the house.
The first crew on the scene reported heavy flames.
After the fire was extinguished, the body of a 29-year-old female along with the body of a man believed to be in his 40's were found inside the home.
News 10 crews witnessed a pet being taken outside of the house and to an ambulance.
No word yet on what caused the fire.
The Lansing Fire Department along with the Lansing Police Department are investigating the blaze.
A Lansing Fire Department spokesperson tells News 10 that they are being assisted by a fire investigator from Delhi Charter Township.
The fire department said names are being withheld until identities can be confirmed and families are notified.
