EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -- Even though there was an early tip Friday, that didn't stop Michigan State fans from heading to some of their favorite spots to cheer on their Spartans.
"You always hear, 'go green, go white' chants around here, the Michigan game was pretty crazy," said Jason Andrews, a bartender at Harrison Roadhouse.
Harrison Roadhouse was one of many places in East Lansing to watch a Spartan basketball game Friday, with blood running green between families and friends.
"We're crazy Spartan fans," said Lisa Nelson. "Life is good; Spartans rule!"
"Every time my family comes down here, we always come with his family," said Taylor Hunter, a family friend. "They're from here."
"I went to Michigan State," said Greg Nelson. "I would come here quite often and watch games with my friends. It's a great Spartan atmosphere, not just college students."
There was no wait for a table at Harrison Roadhouse on Friday but without seeing a few empty seats, you wouldn’t be able to tell.
"Sometimes you need the atmosphere to bring the energy," said Andrews. "It's always better when you win, and we've been doing a lot of that this year."
"Everyone’s cheering, yelling, getting into the game, and if you want to have some fun, this is the place to be," said Nelson
"Especially when it gets really packed," added Hunter.
