Faith in Action holds press conference on Clean Slate Michigan

LANSING, MI (WILX) -- Michigan Faith in Action invited community members, clergy, lay leaders, grassroots and other concerned leaders from around the state to engage in building a more moral and just Michigan using their combined political power as a vehicle, according to a press release.

The group help a press conference called Clean Slate Michigan. The group said they believe that automatic record clearing is critical to healing out communities and making Michigan safer.

A representative from Nation Outside, Tony Grant and Safe and Just Michigan Director John Copper came to discuss the Clean Slate Campaign and its impact.

Nonpartisan and multicultural, Michigan Faith in Action has been around since 2006. They partner with diverse faith groups in all corners of the state.

The press conference took place on the corner of East Michigan Avenue and South Capitol Avenue on Tuesday at noon.
