Michigan Works Southeast is teaming up with United Way Jackson along with other organizations to help people with the expungement process.
Lawyers will be there to help navigate through the paperwork and answer questions.
The expungement fair is all about giving people a second chance at housing and employment.
"An expungement is basically setting aside the offense. It makes it non-public so if they were to apply for a job and they ran and ichat, it wouldn't show up on the ichat," Angela Watkins, Michigan Works Southeast Service Center Manager.
"You can't have any more than one felony, you can't have any more than two misdemeanors. It has to have been at least five years since your were uh got out of jail, out of prison, off probation, off parole," Bethany Stutzman, United Way Jackson Community Solutions.
The expungement fair is happening this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Michigan Works Southeast location in downtown Jackson.
Violent offenses, DUI's and sex crimes are not eligible for expungement.
A state ID or driver's license is required.
