An Eaton Rapids couple took a step forward in their legal fight Monday night after they were told to take down signs for their business.

The owner's of "Your Creative Escape", a pottery shop in Eaton Rapids, say the city ordered them to take the signs down outside of their business because it infringed on a city ordinance.

At Monday night's meeting, the city council agreed to waive the $150 fee for the couple to submit their appeal of the sign violation.

"You know as far as their decision, that was awesome of them to work with us, I really didn't expect that, I really thought we'd be up against a brick wall, so you know I think there is room for us to move forward here and we'll see what happens," Jame Lawson, owner of Your Creative Escape, said.

We will continue to follow this story and let you know what happens.
