If you live in East Lansing and are looking for the chance to serve your community, now's the time. The city is looking for volunteers to serve on several of its advisory boards and commissions.

Current boards or commissions with openings include Arts Commission, Commission on the Environment, Income Tax Board of Review, and the University Student Commission. A list of all of the vacancies and an application are available online at

.

“The City of East Lansing encourages citizen participation at every level of local government. Serving on a board or commission is a tremendous opportunity for citizens to engage in the work of their local government and take part in decisions regarding City policies, development and programs,” said City Manager George Lahanas.

The majority of the boards and commissions meet monthly and do not require prior experience.
