The Ingham County Health Department has issued a no contact order for specific bodies of water in the area.
They are advising no contact for the Rayner Creek, parts of Sycamore Creek, the Red Cedar River and the Grand River.
They are reporting that wastewater was released into the Rayner Drain on June 20 in Mason.
They claim that the action was needed to prevent further sewage back ups within Mason.
"Out of an abundance of caution, people are advised to avoid contact with Rayner Creek and Sycamore Creek in and north of Mason. Contact with the Red Cedar River and the Grand River downstream from Sycamore Creek (near Potter Park Zoo and west of the zoo) should also be avoided."
The situation will be evaluated again on Monday, June 24.
