Detecting multiple cancers with just one test

By  |

A new blood test could eventually help screen for multiple types of cancer.
The test, developed by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, probes DNA for tiny chemical tags that regulate whether genes are active or inactive.
When applied to nearly 36-hundred blood samples, it correctly detected 20 different cancers.
The test also successfully identified the tissue from where the cancer began.
