Deputies continue to recover stolen property from home invasions
If you've had property stolen over the last couple of months, the Eaton Co. Sheriff may have recovered it.
On Thursday, June 7, deputies from the Pennfield Law Enforcement Team, working in conjunction and the Eaton County Sheriff's Department, executed a warrant for 19593 11 Mile Road after gathering more information about where stolen property was.
The property was recovered from a string of home invasions in Eaton, Barry and Calhoun Counties.
Here's a list of some of the items recovered:
one stolen compound bow
various China dinnerware
personal photographs and memorabilia
two heavy gun safes
Investigators from both Eaton and Calhoun County Sheriff Departments and the Michigan State Police Wayland Post are currently working on identifying the owners of these items, as well as continue to locate property that is still missing.
Anyone with information related to this case, or believe that they may be the owner of any recovered property, is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at Office Phone: 269-781-0880.
On May 29, Sheriff Deputies assigned to the Pennfield Law Enforcement Team searched a home in Pennfield Township where they found stolen property, and illegal drugs.
Deputies seized three scoped rifles, approximately 100 rounds of various ammunition, a chest of silver flatware, two cellphones, a digital scale and 4lbs of marijuana.
Firearms and other items have been submitted to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for fingerprint comparison and DNA testing.
On May 24, the suspects of the home invasions were arrested.
Around 6:40 p.m. Thursday, May 24, they were spotted by police and took off on foot.
The man ran into a wooded area near Butterfield Hwy. and Ionia Rd. and tried to hide in a swamp. Police surrounded him but he tried to cover himself up with lily pads in the pond. Eventually police had to go into the water to arrest him.
The female suspect was spotted in the area of Peas Road and Love Hwy. and was arrested at 10:20 PM.
The woman is in custody with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and the man is in the Eaton County Jail. He was treated for hypothermia and other injuries at Hayes Green Beach Hospital in Charlotte.
The home invasion suspects are Keith Worthington and Tiffany Denton.
