Couple rescues family from burning car

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (WILX) - What could have become a tragedy was quickly stopped by a driver who took matters into his own hands.

A woman was driving down the highway in Sacramento with her two grandchildren when the driver next to her says he noticed flames shooting out from underneath her car.

Kenneth Knox says he had no choice but to force the car off the road.

The car burst into flames, but the grandmother and children made it out safely.

"When we went up to the window, she says 'why'd you pull me over?' I said 'because your car's on fire.' She says 'oh my God, my babies,'" said Knox.

As if that wasn't enough, Knox then gave the woman his grandchild's car seat after she just lost both of hers.
