Consumers are boosting the economy with robust spending.
According to the latest report by the Commerce Department, retail sales rose 0.4% last month, the fourth straight increase.
Sales at on-line retailers, supermarkets, home and garden stores, restaurants and bars all increased at a healthy pace.
The June numbers show that consumer confidence remains historically high as retail sales account for about one-third of Americans' spending.
Analysts say steady hiring, wage increases and low interest rates are helping to promote greater spending.
