JACKSON, MI (WILX) -- The next phase of the massive overhaul on I-94 in Jackson County is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Interstate 94 construction (MGN)
Crews will begin to shift traffic on the newly constructed eastbound lanes of I-94 at 8 p.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transporation (MDOT).
The shift spans from Lansing Avenue to Elm Avenue.
The shift will accommodate continuing lane reconstruction, according to MDOT.
The work is part of the ongoing $109 million reconstruction project along I-94 in Jackson County.
The work is scheduled to be finish next spring/
The traffic shift is scheduled to be in place until Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6 a.m., according to MDOT.
Drivers should expect delays and are advised to seek an alternate route if possible.
The eastbound I-94 on-ramp at West Avenue is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7 a.m., according to MDOT.
The ramp was closed during last week's traffic shift for safety reasons.
