The Clinton County Sheriff's Office has a warning about a possible scam.
It says people have been receiving calls from someone posing as a Consumers Energy worker.
The caller tells people that they're late on their payments, and their power will be shut off immediately.
They then strongly encourage paying up by purchasing money cards and giving the caller the numbers off the card.
Consumers Energy wants to remind everyone that they will never ask anyone to do this, and if you receive a call like this, you should hang up.
