A classroom robot is changing lives for students at Explorer Elementary School in Williamston.

Reese Supianonski is a fifth grader there, and at just ten years old, she's spent much of her time shuttling between hospitals, juggling her school work and just trying to be a kid.

Thanks to an innovative partnership with Michigan State University, Reese can attend class even if she is miles away from the classroom.

News 10 spoke with her family and teachers to find out how this new technology is inspiring her love for learning.

Connie Crittenden, Reese's teacher, said "It makes such a difference to be able to have her hear my instruction in the class instead of sending a home-bound teacher to try to do the same thing and translate what I'm doing in the classroom.

Plus, she's also able to ask questions.

She's able to hear all the kids.

She can be part of collaborative work because I have kids working in teams a lot. So, that made it a whole lot better that way."
