China: U.S. agriculture exempt from tariff hike

By  |

A goodwill gesture from China could be huge for American farmers.
A Chinese state news agency says U.S. soybeans, pork and some other farm products will be exempt from tariff hikes.
It's a possible goodwill gesture ahead of trade negotiations scheduled to resume next month.
Soybeans are the biggest U.S. export to China, but purchases ground to a halt after President Donald Trump hiked tariffs on Chinese imports in a fight over trade and technology.
