LANSING, MI. (WILX) - Smoke from wildfires in Western Canada are moving over the U.S. including mid-Michigan.
A number of wildfires in Western Canada are sending smoke high up into the lower atmosphere. Strong upper level winds are carrying that smoke into the United States, including mid-Michigan.
You can see the smoke a little more clearly when the sun is rising and setting. The sun looks a little more red than it usually does in these instances.
With rain in the forecast Saturday, there's even the chance that you might smell some of this smoke. That rain could help transport that smoke down to the ground level.
