Truck falls through Lake Michigan ice

A Wisconsin man learns the hard way why it is so dangerous to drive on ice, especially with the recent warm up.

The man drove his Cadillac Escalade onto a thawing Lake Michigan Saturday and cell phone video captures the entire incident. The driver was towing an ice shanty to another spot on the lake when the ice broke underneath. The truck quickly sank under the icy water.

The man was able to get out and was not hurt. He claims he thought the ice was safe because a friend who had been out snowmobiling told him it was safe to drive on.
