LANSING, MI (WILX) - The Michigan Association of Broadcasters received a donation on Monday, August 19, from the Capital Area Activities Conference (CAAC) in honor of News 10's Tim Staudt and his recent induction into the Hall of Fame.

Staudt was honored to be inducted into the Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame on August 6 for five decades of broadcasting.

He is known as the "Dean of Sports," and is the longest-serving sportscaster in the state.

He started writing sports columns even when he was in high school, even writing for the Lansing State Journal for years after graduation.

Tim worked at WJIM from 1970-1980 and then moved to WILX in 1980.

He also hosts, "Staudt on Sports." on WVFN radio.

The donation comes on the heels of the WILX production, "Decades With The Dean," a one-hour special dedicated to the career of Tim Staudt.

The MAB told News 10 that the donation will help to advance the mission of the Foundation and support educational opportunities for students interested in broadcasting.
