Bullet was slowed down before it hit victim, police say

LANSING, MI (WILX) - Lansing Police are reporting on a "drive-by" shooting that took place overnight.

It happened at 1:45 a.m. on July 23, on Pennsylvania Ave. near Hazel, and involved two cars.

The victim is a 19-year-old who went to the hospital after being shot at and feeling pain in his face.

The victim was a passenger in car one.

Car two pulled up next to car one and shot at the car.

Police say car two then drove off.

The victim was taken to a hospital and the staff there informed the police.

Police say that the bullet did hit the car door and items inside the car, which slowed down the bullet before it hit the victim.
