If you're trying to beat the heat and travel to some Michigan beaches this weekend you'l want to read this first.

Two beaches are closed and 3 others are under bacterial contamination advisories.

The closed beaches are:

Veterans Memorial Park Beach at Lake Saint Clair

Lakeshore Park Beach in Walled Lake

These are closed until further notice, according to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality’s website.

Beaches will close when toxicologists from the MDEQ Water Resources Division tests the water samples and finds E. Coli that exceeds 300 organisms per 100 ml of water. That's when the health department will issue an advisory or closure.

The beaches under advisory are on Lake Michigan... Michiana Village and Lions Park, and Whites Beach in Saginaw Bay is under contamination advisory.
