Are you prepared for the "Parenting Hangover?"

By  |

Most parents are good about getting a babysitter when they have a holiday cocktail party to attend, but maybe more moms and dads should think about keeping the sitter for the day after, too!
A survey from the University of Michigan explores what's called a "parenting hangover" -- when moms and dads have a little too much fun and are ill-equipped for parenting duties the next day.
One in four parents who drink alcohol on special occasions say they don't think about limiting their drinking, or consider whether they'll be able to take care of kids the next day.
Experts say people recovering from a night of drinking may be less likely to react in an emergency.
They recommend having kids attend a sleepover the night of a party, or perhaps having a grandparent spend the night with the kids.
