App allows people to send anonymous tips about opioid crimes
Fighting the opioid epidemic could be as simple as sending a text.
People can now use their smartphones to anonymously text tips on opioid-related crimes to the Somerset Prosecutor's Office.
The hope is that people feel more comfortable coming forward with information about dealers and overdoes, instead of speaking directly to police.
The "Stop-It" app has been used for awhile, but usually to report anonymous tips on bulling in schools.
It will be up to Detectives to verify the leads.
