All-nighter at Ingham Co. Animal Control to get pets home for the holidays

MASON, Mich. (WILX) - The Ingham County Animal Control is hosting an all-nighter this weekend.

On Saturday, December 15, at 5 p.m., when the shelter usually closes, the doors will be open for the Holiday All-Nighter Adoption Event.

Fees to adopt animals will be discounted for $25 for dogs and $5 for cats for all approved adoptions.

Adoptions will go until 1 a.m. with the help of volunteers and shelter staff.

Pet Photos with Santa will also be happening from 5 - 8 p.m. for a donation.

New to the all-nighter event is the InPound fundraiser.

This event puts local celebrities in "lock up" by animal control officers with an adoptable pet.

To get out of "jail" celebrities have to call in favors and raise $500 to be released and allowed "home for the holidays."

Those getting locked up are:
Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth, Kirbay Preuss from Preuss Pets, Artimis from i92.9FM, Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing, and many others.

Donations can be brought to the shelter, or made over the phone, to help your favorite citizens. Phone lines will open at 6pm. Call 517-676-8318 or 517-676-8362 to make a donation, or they can be made online or in person at the shelter.
