UPDATE: Police identify driver of fatal crash
The Lansing Police Department has identified the driver of a single-car fatal crash that took place over the weekend.
Police have identified the victim as Ryan Donovan Dickenson, 27, from Romulus.
Police said the incident happened on Mount Hope Avenue near Teel Avenue in Lansing around 10:42 p.m.
Police said Dickenson's vehicle was headed west on Mt. Hope just west of Cedar Street.
Police said the vehicle lost control and left the roadway where it hit a utility pole.
LPD said the vehicle rolled and hit a parked pick-up truck which caused the vehicle to separate into two parts.
Police said half of Dickenson's vehicle hit a parked motorcycle and a house located in the 100 block of east Mt. Hope. LPD said the motorcycle, home, and part of the vehicle all caught on fire.
LPD said the second half of the vehicle landed in the yard of the home located in the 100 block of east Mt. Hope.
LPD said Dickenson was pronounced dead on the scene.
said the homeowners were not injured in the crash.
Police do believe speed was a factor in the crash and said an autopsy will be conducted with results expected to be available in six to eight weeks.
