NBC, (WILX) - After months of gas prices rising to some of the highest national averages in years, there may finally be some relief at the pump, just in time for the start of the summer travel season.

This spring, the price of gas reached its highest national average since 2011.
AAA says this week the price of gas dropped in more than half of all states.
The national average is now $2.87.
Most states are expected to see a drop by Memorial Day.
