Student start-ups compete for $40K at Wharton

East LANSING, Mich (WILX) - At this hour, fifteen Michigan State University student startups are being showcased at the Wharton Center for the Preforming Arts.

It is all part of the Burgess New Venture Challenge.

The goal of the challenge is to allow students to share their business ideas as they compete for $40,000 in scholarship prizes.

The event is taking place in the Jackson and Christman Lounges at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts in East Lansing.

Exhibits will also be on display..

The competition includes the various teams pitching their start-up ideas to a panel of judges.

Venture Challenge winners are expected to be announced at 8.45 p.m.
